Build a form from a PDF
Attach a paper form, such as your attitude to risk questionnaire or annual review form, to a chat and ask Templi to turn it into a Templi form. Templi reads every page and recreates the questions and answer choices. From then on you never retype it: click Fill and Templi completes it for each client from their records and documents.
Before you start
Use the blank version of the form, so Templi builds the questions rather than copying one client's answers.
If Forms shows Upgrade in the sidebar, your licence does not include forms yet. Ask your administrator.
Ask Templi to build it
Go to Home, or click Ask Templi in the top bar.
Click the paperclip and choose Upload files. If the PDF is already in Templi, choose Browse sources instead.
Pick the PDF. It appears above the message box.
Say what you want, for example: Build a form from this attitude to risk questionnaire. Keep the same sections and questions, and make the tick box answers single choice.
Send the message.
What Templi builds
Templi creates a new form and adds the questions a few at a time, so you can watch it take shape in a tab beside the chat. Tick boxes become choice questions, and repeated rows, such as a list of pensions or separate columns for a client and their partner, become a single table.
When it finishes, the form is listed on the Forms page.
Change the form by asking
Keep chatting in the same conversation to adjust the form. For example:
Add a question asking whether the client expects any large expenses in the next five years.
Let clients pick more than one answer for the purpose of the investment.
Remove the joint client name question.
To make changes yourself, open the form in the Form editor.
Fill it for a client
This is where the time saving comes in. On the Forms page, click Fill next to the new form, choose the client, attach anything useful such as your meeting notes, and click Fill. Templi answers every question it can and shows where each answer came from. See Fill a form.
Tips for a good result
Say which questions allow one answer and which allow several.
Mention anything the PDF does not show, such as a question that only applies to joint clients.
If the form is about a document rather than a person, such as a policy summary, turn off Require clients in the form's settings so it can be filled from files alone.
