Protection needs
A protection needs form records the cover a client already has and what their family would need if they died or could not work, so any gap is clear before you recommend a policy. Ask Templi to build one with a table for existing cover, then let Templi fill it from the client's policy documents.
What to ask
Start a new chat from Home or Ask Templi and send:
Build a form called "Protection needs". Add a table for existing cover with provider, type of cover (life cover, critical illness, income protection), amount of cover, monthly premium and end date. Then ask for the outstanding mortgage balance, the number of dependants and their ages, monthly household spending, any sick pay from the client's employer and how long it lasts, and how long the family could manage on savings if the client could not work.
Templi builds the form in a tab beside the chat and saves it on the Forms page.
Fill it from policy documents
On the Forms page, click Fill next to Protection needs, choose the client and attach their policy schedules, a recent mortgage statement and your meeting notes. Click Fill and Templi adds a row to the existing cover table for each policy it finds. See Fill a form.
Check it before you use it
Open the form and click Preview, then add a row to the existing cover table to check the columns read clearly.
Make sure money questions use a money field, so amounts show in pounds rather than as plain numbers.
Useful follow-ups
Add a yes or no question asking whether each policy is written in trust.
Add questions about the client's smoking status, height and weight.
Add a long text question for the client's wishes if they became seriously ill.
