View and manage client charges
Charges record what a client pays, either attached to a specific plan or recorded for the client without a plan. You can view, add, edit, and remove them from the client's Charges tab or from a plan's Charges tab.
Where charges appear
Charges live in two places. The client's Charges tab shows every charge for that client — both charges linked to a plan and charges not tied to any plan, such as a retainer. A charge with no plan shows the label "Not tied to a plan".
A plan's detail page has its own Charges tab, alongside the other plan registers. It shows only the charges on that plan.
Add a charge
Open the charge form from either Charges tab and choose Add charge. The form asks for the charge's classification, type, amount, frequency, payer, status, and dates.
Choose a classification: Initial advice, Ongoing service, One-off, or Other.
Choose a type: Fee or Commission.
Choose Set amount or Percentage. Only the field for the selected mode is shown, and a charge cannot be saved without a valid figure for it.
Set How often: One-off, Weekly, Fortnightly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half-yearly, Annually, or Other.
Set the payer: Client, Provider, or Not recorded.
Set the status: Active, Not started, Ended, Cancelled, or Unknown.
Enter the Tax rate %, Description, Started on, and Ended on fields.
Save with Add charge, or Add charge and Save and add another to keep adding. You'll see "Charge added." when it saves.
Edit a charge
Select Edit charge on a row to reopen the same form with the charge's current values, change what you need, and save with Save changes. You'll see "Charge updated." when it saves.
Remove a charge
Select Remove charge and confirm. The dialog states that the charge will be removed from Templi and that nothing is sent to your CRM.
Removing a charge only removes it from Templi. It does not write back to or change anything in your connected CRM.
Identify imported charges
Charges that came from a connected system show a "From [source]" badge beneath the amount, so you can tell an imported charge from one you recorded yourself.
Search and read the charges table
The charges table lists each charge's service, plan, type, frequency, payer, start date, status, amount, and source. Use the search box to filter by description, reference, or service label.
Or just ask Templi
You don't have to fill the form in yourself. Ask Templi in chat and it will do the same work — "what is Margaret paying us?", "add a £125 a month planning retainer for Margaret, starting January", or "change the ongoing charge on her pension to 0.5%". Templi shows you what it recorded, and you can correct it in the same conversation.
