Customize table views

Open Table settings on a supported data table to switch between Comfortable rows and Compact rows, and to show or hide the columns you want. Your choices are remembered separately for each table, so the Clients table can stay compact while the Documents table keeps its comfortable rows.

Open Table settings

Table settings is a cog on tables that support personalization. It is not available on every page or for every column, so if you do not see the control, that table does not support it.

1. Open a supported table, such as Clients, Documents, Forms, Files, Plans, Groups, or Team.

2. Select Table settings to open the menu.

Change the row height

Use the Row height section to choose how much vertical space each row takes. Comfortable rows is the default and gives each row more breathing room; Compact rows packs more rows into the same space.

1. In Table settings, open Row height.

2. Select Comfortable rows or Compact rows. The change applies immediately.

Show or hide columns

The Columns section lets you toggle which columns are visible. It appears only when the table has columns that can be hidden; a table with no hideable columns shows no Columns section.

1. In Table settings, open Columns.

2. Check or uncheck the columns you want to show or hide. The change applies immediately.

You cannot hide every hideable column. At least one visible hideable column must remain, so the final visible hideable column cannot be unchecked.

Where Table settings is available

The control appears on the main data tables across the product, including Clients, Files, Forms, All Documents, Template Library, Groups, Team, and Plans, as well as the plan registers (such as valuations, contributions, and charges) and client reports. Which columns you can hide varies by table.

How your preferences are remembered

Row height and column visibility are saved separately for each table screen and restored when you return to it. Changing the Clients table does not change any other table, and your choices are remembered in your browser.
